             YouTube Monetization Policy (Updated July 15, 2025)

  • What's new: YouTube refined its monetization rules to crack down on mass-produced, low-effort, or AI-generated content, now labeled as "inauthentic." The platform aims to ensure only content with meaningful creative value—like commentary, transformations, or educational merit—is monetized. The Economic Times and India Today.

  • Clarifications: Reaction or compilation videos are not banned, but to remain eligible, they must offer original context or commentary. The Economic Times ET Now.

  • Eligibility requirements: Unchanged—creators still need 1,000 subscribers and either 4,000 valid public watch hours in the past year OR 10 million valid Shorts views in the last 90 days The Economic Times +1.

         App Support Changes for Older iOS Devices (June 2025)

  • A new YouTube app update (version 20.22.1) now requires iOS 16 or later, discontinuing support for older devices such as iPhone 6s, 7, iPad Air 2, iPad mini 4, and iPod touch 7th generation (India Today).

       UI & Player Redesign (Launched in 2025)
